Final Lap Timing Group Is Hiring!
Final Lap Timing Group has grown and is continuing to grow! We went from timing 5 races in 2020 to 52 races in 2023. In 2024, our future is bright and exciting, as we are looking to support over 80 races and we need more "Spikesters" (race timing teammates) to support our growth!
As a Spikester, you will be a part of helping many great events happen. Most races are on the weekends with a few events taking place on Wednesday and Thursday during the high school track & field seasons. This is a great opportunity for extra income, and to learn your way around race/sports management business. Applicants must have reliable transportation to get to races and be willing to learn. We will train you in everything else you need for race timing!

Preferred Requirements -
Our race timing teammates work on equipment setup and breakdown, as well as helping to manage the finish line during the race by training volunteers, troubleshooting equipment, and doing some basic timing tasks.
Applicants should be:
+ Able to multitask in a fast-paced time-sensitive environment
+ Available weekends, often early in the morning
+ Willing to travel where needed (mostly Mid-Atlantic States)
+ Willing to work outdoors in all kinds of weather
+ Must work well with all kinds of people and be very customer service-focused
+ Detail-oriented, precise, and a self-starter
+ Able to lift and carry moderately heavy equipment when necessary (<50 lbs)
In addition to the qualifications for the Spikesters Team job listed above, all applicants must also be:
+ Very comfortable with using and troubleshooting computers, and with learning new technologies.
+ Competent oral and written communication skills
+ Able to type race day data quickly and accurately
Applicants will be thoroughly trained before they are expected to time an event on their own and receive support virtually until they feel comfortable taking the lead.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: Starts at $25.00 per hour (1099 Independent Contractor) ** Pay could change based on experience **
Schedule: 4-hour shift (can be longer; expect to work some holidays in the summer)
Education: High School Diploma (Required)
Language: English (Required)
Willingness to travel: 100% (Required)
Work Location: On the road (Road, Cross Country, And Track and field Venues). Any events that require overnight accommodations or flights will be handled by Final Lap Timing Group.
